Super Awesome Fantastic Intern Search is ON!

Tab McCausland Photography is now accepting resumes to bring on one intern approximately 5-7 hours a week
to help me in the quest for cloning myself :)

Who should apply? Someone who likes being paid in Sweet Tea, Cupcakes and Knowledge, can social network with the best of them and has a head for marketing, fashion and graphic design.  Fun and outgoing, who wouldn’t mind having lunch out of the office once or twice and can stay organized at all times! Friendly, reliable and trustworthy. Sound like you? Keep reading!

Who you’ll be working with: Me! Tab McCausland, owner, and CEO of a crazy life.

What you’ll be expected to do: Work, duh! I need help with lots of things, from marketing, archiving, answering emails and inquiries, blogging, preparing shipments, ordering prints and just keeping me sane (did I mention you must be completely organized?)

The benefits: As an intern, your hours aren’t limited.   I’m also putting together a commission for my intern for any job you had a hand in booking. I’ll require about 5 hours a week of your time but you can virtually make your own hours, and are free to work more if you’d like.

Some requirements: It’s an internship – meaning you’re ready to work and learn. You’ll be required to work your 5 hours a week, preferably one day, during the day. Because of the tight-knit environment and extreme competition in this field, I prefer that you’re not already a working photographer, or have plans to be one in the next year or so. I know this is a super touchy area – but I’m looking for someone who is more of a marketing and design guru, versus a photographer in training.

(If you’re a photographer looking for training or have questions please email me at tabmccausland@gmail.com but this internship is not for you)

Programs I use (and you would also use… you should let me know what you’re familiar with and what you’re not):
Adobe Photoshop CS3, Camera RAW, Microsoft Office, Gmail, iTunes (for music that is a must),  Twitter, Facebook and Wordpress

Major props if you have experience in web design, creative (graphic) design, accounting, non-profit events/fundraising or retouching.

Length of internship: not sure yet. We’ll chat about your goals and plans and make a determination from there. We’ll both mutually agree on what benefits both of us. I’m flexible.

So  …  it’s your move! Ready to apply?

totally-rad-new-banner

I get about 7 emails a week from other photographers asking what type of actions I use to process my images.  Honestly, I try to use as little as possible and do most of my creative stuff in the camera but, when I do use actions it is almost exclusively Totally Rad Actions.

Here are a few of my TRA recipes that I LOVE!

Second Harvest Food Bank

October 6, 2008

Every year around Fall when I was a property manager (along time ago) I use to have the residents bring in can foods to give to the Second Harvest Food Bank. I would offer a raffle of some kind and it worked out really well. I use to take the food to the warehouse and was in awe of all the food they had and how they would tell me that this isn’t nearly enough. So now it is fall and I started thinking about the Second Harvest Food Bank of Orlando again and what I can do to help……So if you donate ANY amount to the Second Harvest Food Bank through their website and shoot me an e-mail saying so by October 31st I will put your e-mail in a raffle. The winner (after I confirm with SHFB that you did give) will receive a one hour shoot of any kind (Trash the Dress, Bridal, Engagement, Family, Maternity) and a $50.00 Gift Card to Darden Restaurants (Total Retail Value $300.00). The winner will be drawn on Halloween!!

A special thanks to Greg Higgerson, VP of the Second Harvest Food Bank for getting back to me and allowing me the use of your company logo. I hope we can help this wonderful company out and give to those who don’t have even the basic necessities.
