I might have cried just a little bit

Thank you so much to the awesome amazing assistant Shadow, super model Alison, cake lady Anna and hair + makeup maven Heather.  Special thanks to the 20 photographers in the class for being awesome and having fun with me!  Due to the wonderful feedback I have received I will be scheduling another one very soon.

So I announced last week that I was looking for some part time help because I could no longer handle it all on my own. Well, I am excited to say…… I found the absolute perfect person! Meet Shadow. She is awesome and we have been having so much fun our first week already. I am VERY excited because she is not only going to help keep me organized (and help me have some personal time), but I know she is going to add to the business with her passion for life, her family and love of photography. I met Shadow while shooting one of my favorite brides wedding *hi Sarah* and we just meshed well.  I am so thrilled she wanted to be a part of my crazy world and I just know she is going to add so very much to my business.  I am so excited to see where the future will take us.

I just got off a long phone call with a good friend and we were talking about fears.  I have been thinking alot about fears lately with everything happening in my life and all the new challenges.  I feel I am ready for the new things coming into my life mostly in business but like anyone I have fears and doubts.  To quote Lara Casey  “To name your fears is to destroy them.”  So here is my list of fears to be named and hopefully destroyed.  I wish you all positive thoughts today and NO FEAR!

I fear not being a good wife
I fear not being a good mom
I fear not being a truly good friend
I fear not having good honest loyal friends
I fear not being a good photographer
I fear not living up to my own expectations
I fear not living up to Gods expectations of me

It was a cold and rainy day in February at the Howard Johnson Plaza  Hotel on McCoy Road in Orlando.  The Howard Johnson Plaza was my Mom’s hotel or I should say to me it was her hotel since I don’t have a memory as a child growing up that didn’t include her working there.  I remember when I was sick growing up she would put me in a room next to her office and let me order room service and watch TV all day which was a treat because I didn’t get to watch TV much growing up.  My first job was there when I was 13 folding towels in the laundry room with the housekeeping staff (yeah child labor laws were a little different then) .  I was the baby and they all always looked out for me even though I was the bosses daughter.  Today though on the 12th of February no one was working.  They were all sitting in the isles watching me walk down the carefully made runner to marry the man of my dreams.  We were broke as a joke being just kids at the time so our present from all the employees I had grown up with was their services.  Food, flowers,music,  rooms for guests, hair and makeup and Mom made the cake.  For a free wedding it sure was beautiful and as Clayton’s father walked me down the isle to marry his son I was glad I was at my Mom’s hotel.  Clayton said when I got half way down the isle he could see my heart pounding in my chest.  I don’t remember being nervous but I do remember thinking dear Lord please don’t let this man come to his senses and run away.  I met Clayton in child care class in the 10th grade and as someone who proclaimed I would NEVER get married I sure changed my mind quickly!  I could not wait to marry this man and after 17 years I can honestly say I would not change a damn thing.

Thank you so much to all my 2010 brides!! This is the third year in a row I have won Bride’s Choice and I am super honored.  Thank you all so much for taking the time to write a review and I am super excited for all the new weddings of 2011!
